Compositeworks, a world-renowned company specialising in complex superyacht and megayacht refits, has delivered a major transformation of the 68,7m Feadship mega yacht FALCON LAIR (ex New Horizon L, White Cloud). Delivered in August 2015, the beautifully refitted motor yacht FALCON LAIR has been shortlisted for the prestigious World Superyacht Award.

Originally launched at Feadship’s Van Lent yard in 1983 as New Horizon L, superyacht FALCON LAIR has been completely redesigned by the UK architects Olesinski Ltd. She now features a deep blue hull and a new exterior design. Major features of the refit included a total remodelling of superstructure forward and aft on every deck, 3m+ transom extension, 1m high modification to forward sheerline up to bow, modifications to fashion plates, wing stations, bulwarks and other superstructure details to totally modernise the vessel’s profile leaving it completely unrecognisable from its previous guises.

Justin Olesinski commented the refit of luxury yacht FALCON LAIR (ex New Horizon L, White Cloud): “From the point of commissioning to delivery it has been a tremendous privilege to work on this particular project, transforming the vision of our client into a design that we feel is both timeless and enduring. A fantastic collaborative project with great mutual support from Compositeworks, we are absolutely delighted with the end result.”

Rob Papworth, Director of Compositeworks, added: “We had been fortunate enough to work many times on the vessel in its old guise as White Cloud, which had already been heavily modified from her New Horizon L lines. We felt privileged to form part of the team along with Olesinski Design, transforming her to her new lease of life. Any owner that is prepared to take the risk to undertake such a project should be congratulated, but one that takes on the challenge and really conquers it, producing such a stunning result such has been the case with Falcon Lair, should be thoroughly applauded.”
