Motor yacht YOGI, built by Proteksan Turquoise was proudly wearing the Turkish flag on her bow, when she was launched into the water at the Pendik shipyard in Istanbul. This newest launch of yacht YOGI (hull no. NB49) measures 60.20 m (197.5 ft) and is the second superyacht launched by Proteksan Turquoise in 2011, after the earlier launch of the motor yacht Turquoise.

Superyacht ‘YOGI’ is a very striking yacht combining design signatures found on expedition yachts, blended skilfully with dramatic lines and detail features. This is a triumph for the combined vision of the in-house design team at the Proteksan-Turquoise yard and accomplished designer Jean-Guy Verges who was also responsible for the stunning interior.

As yacht design in general matures with the owners’ desires for more features, the desire is also to feel connected to the water and fully appreciate the marine environment. Extensive hull and superstructure glazing allows scenic vistas from almost any area of the YOGI yacht. In order to optimise entertaining opportunities, ‘Yogi’ has two ‘beach-clubs’ and a side balcony to connect those on board with the sea, whilst on the sundeck the experience is enhanced by a large jacuzzi and a Teppanyaki bar.
The design team has incorporated many other special features including the large temperature-regulated swimming pool with a glazed skylight in the bottom to illuminate the beach club below. Adding more to this mix of facilities is a massage room and a multimedia play lounge.

Accommodation for up to 12 guests is facilitated by 6 cabins (5 double and one twin). The large master suite is located on the main deck and comprises of a lounge/day area, office area, dressing room and his and hers en suites.

M/Y YOGI is in class with ABS and MCA LY2. Her steel hull and aluminium superstructure is driven by twin Caterpillar 3512 B, 1750hp diesels. Performance is excellent for her charter career with a top speed of 17 knots, cruising at 15 knots and a 5000 nm range at 12 knots.
Charter yacht YOGI is designed for safe, comfortable and elegant cruising offering a worldwide range in excess of 5,000 nautical miles at 12 knots.
