Mike Joyce, CEO of Hargrave Custom Yachts, has been honoured with a special award from the 1 World Foundation, in recognition of his efforts on behalf of the charity. The price was handed over during the recent Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show.

The award read, “Presented to Michael F. Joyce for his generous support and untiring advocacy on behalf of the people with special needs in Northern New York, Ontario, Canada, and the Turks & Caicos Islands, BWI. Presented November 2014 by Howard W. Ganter, President, 1 World Foundation.” The award was presented by two magazine editors on behalf of the foundation.

Joyce, who has close ties to all three regions, said he is proud to be able to support this particular organization because it is so hands on from top to bottom and they make every single dollar count. “I thought I had a tight budget but these guys create miracles and they are running on fumes! I think the media often portrays a stereo typical image of people who are physically or mentally challenged, but when you are fortunate enough to be in one of their centers where you can appreciate firsthand these men and women who are filled with love, hope, and enthusiasm it is really a game changer. 1 World is actually an umbrella organization for non-profits on both sides of the border who specialize in helping those with special needs and provide critical support to their families. When I see a high impact charity like this I often joke that I wish I had worked harder so I could donate more!”
