Fiji Yacht Charter

Fiji is one of the most beautiful yacht charter destinations in the South Pacific and is ideally located in the tropics of the southern hemisphere. Out of its 300 islands only 100 or so are inhabited by humans, with the rest being left as stunning nature reserves. Two major islands in Fiji include Viti Levu and Vanua Levu. The Yasawa Island group is famous for the filming of the Blue Lagoon and is truly a paradise on Earth. The volcanic nature of the islands creates a spectacular backdrop for cruising. Most sailing charter guests find the local villagers a refreshing change from the commercialism of the Mamanucas and the Coral Coast.

Swaying palm tree in Fiji

In Fiji you can enjoy the serene contemplation of nature in complete safety. It’s rain-forests, for example, have no harmful animals or insects. There are no leeches or crocodiles, which means you can fully enjoy its beautiful wild streams, brooks of crystal clear water as well as the many waterfall Fiji has to offer. There are spectacular multi-hued birds and several varieties of Fiji’s tiny wild parrots. Because of the mountainous nature of the islands, there are numerous streams and waterfalls, with the sacred Bouma Falls on the Island of Taveuni featured in the movie ‘Return to the Blue Lagoon’.

Paradise on Earth

Imagine cruising the pristine emerald and azure waters, experiencing endless beauty. Fiji is the perfect place to watch dolphins swim next to your boat, or enjoy relaxing time game fishing, diving and snorkelling. Fiji is also named as the “Soft Coral Capital of the World” and is rated as one of the top 10 dive destinations in the world. It has large and varied colourful underwater playgrounds, boasting spectacular experience for divers at every skill level.

Tropical rainforest in Fiji

Fiji is virtually untouched in many places, with a great range of memorable experiences available, from the possibility to discover virgin grasslands and tropical rain-forests as well as marvel at the exotic customs of the Fijian, Indian, Chinese, Rotuman and other cultures that have made Fiji their home.

Fiji

Golf is another activity you could take on on your Fiji yacht charter. Here you can completely unwind and enjoy one of your favourite pastimes at one of the numerous quality golf courses, including international championship courses.

Singapore Yacht Show 2013 now officially open

April 18, 2013

Being attended by more than double the number of exhibitors in comparison to last year, the third annual Singapore Yacht Show is now officially open, hosting plenty of amazing brands as well as luxury yachts, making their Asia premiere at the show.

Singapore Yacht Show 2013

Singapore Yacht Show 2013

Managing director of Singapore Yacht Events Andy Treadwell, said he was proud the event was achieving what it was asked to deliver at the beginning of the venture, “a yachting and boating event with all the vibrancy, quality and reputation of the world’s best marine shows”.

“We’ve more than doubled our on-water display again this year, with a world-class line-up of vessels, encompassing some incredible glamorous superyachts with all the on-board toys and tenders a billionaire could want, but also sporty runabouts, tenders and sailboats perfect for the first time buyer. There really is something for everyone,” he said.

That list includes; the magnificent 57.5m S/Y Twizzle, making her yacht show debut at the show, Kingship’s motoryacht Star, the beautiful classic charter yacht Shamoun, motor yacht Sapphire and the 59.3m superyacht I-Dynasty.

Superyacht Twizzle launched by Royal Huisman in 2010

Loyal and new exhibitors include; Palmer Johnson, Simpson Marine, Sunseeker, SG Boating, Luxury Yachts, Princess – exhibiting eight beautiful boats, La Marca Marine, Grand Banks, YPI, Burgess, Northrop and Johnson, Premium Nautical, the hugely innovative Wider Yachts and many more.

Complementing the yachting lifestyle on display, the event is also showcasing luxury cars, fabulous property and fine art. Celebrity DJ Miles Slater from a world-famous nightclub Boujis in Hong Kong and London is arriving to wow the crowds this weekend, and live fashion shows from international resort-wear brands will run on Saturday afternoon.

With so much going on every day – industry conferences, a sumptuous gala dinner tonight at the W Singapore – Sentosa Cove and plenty of parties – the Singapore Yacht Show 2013 is shaping up to be the region’s premier lifestyle event this year. “That some of the world’s biggest brands now see our event as the ideal platform to market to Asia’s growing wealthy classes, is testament to the importance of this show to the international yachting industry,” Mr Treadwell said.

In his opening address to media and VIP guests at ONE°15 Marina Club this afternoon, Mr Treadwell reiterated the three main objectives of Singapore Yacht Show. Firstly, to find new business in a new market for the worldwide yachting and boating industry. Secondly, to introduce a whole new audience of increasingly wealthy people from right around Asia to the fun, the sport and the exhilaration of the yachting lifestyle.

Thirdly, the show aims to drive the significant economic impact that a growing yacht tourism and leisure marine industry will bring to Singapore and all of South East Asia, if it is properly supported, he said.

“In terms of the significance of the yacht show, and the quality of its exhibitors this year, there is little doubt that the Singapore Yacht Show is playing a very significant part in positioning Singapore as the South East Asia business hub for the international yachting and boating industry,” Mr Treadwell said.

Arthur Tay, chairman of ONE°15 Marina Club spoke of Singapore Yacht Show’s potential to become one of the city state’s most important and strategic events, alongside the Formula One Singapore Grand Prix.

“Yacht shows of this calibre are vital to the continued development of Singapore as the regional hub for luxury yachting and a major destination for the very top end of business and leisure tourism. Through the Singapore Yacht Show’s promotions and marketing, the world’s most notable private vessels are exposed to the infrastructure and services Singapore has to offer. This in turn supports the marinas, brokers, service providers and individual employers of Singapore’s luxury marine industry,” Mr Tay said.

Guest of honour, Tan Sri Lim Kok Thay, said he believes South East Asia has the makings of a great yachting industry, naming the region’s great weather, beautiful beaches and islands just some of the drawcards.

Mr Treadwell said Tan Sri Lim Kok Thay’s recent investment in Wider Yachts demonstrated, “a true representative of the willingness of business leaders in the region to contribute to the development of the nascent yachting industry in Asia”.

Singapore Yacht Show is open to the public until 6pm today, and from 2pm until 8pm from Friday April 19 to Sunday April 21. Entry is $50.

One of the most popular countries in the Mediterranean and amongst the most beautiful and diverse places to visit, Spain and its islands is a destination that tourists like to explore over and over again. Whether it’s the lovely warm climate, Spaniards’ passion for good life and food or the beautiful anchorages, this place will keep you entertained, amazed, relaxed and most of all, wanting for more. Balearic Islands, located in the western Mediterranean Sea, are  the most popular charter location in Spain with charter itineraries starting and ending in either Mallorca or Ibiza.

Mallorca

On a charter vacation in the Balearics you will encounter continuous sunshine, azure waters, beautiful beaches and rugged landscape with numerous historical sites to visit, including castles, museums and ancient cobbled streets in charming little towns.  The four largest islands to explore are Majorca, Minorca, Ibiza and Formentera.

Mallorca

Majorca yacht charter offers world-renowned beaches and coves, and is an excellent destination to enjoy everything from countryside golf to historic culture or water sports and lively entertainment. The capital city Palma has plenty of outdoor cafés, pubs and large seafront discos hosting some of the best DJs on the music scene. Yacht Solutions and Ital Thai Marine’s first dedicated superyacht facility in Bangkok, Thailand

April 16, 2013

By signing a Memorandum of Understanding, Yacht Solutions and Ital Thai Marine have agreed to join their forces to create Thailand’s first dedicated superyacht facility in Bangkok.

This joint venture brings together Thailand’s largest and most established shipbuilding company with Thailand’s most reputable and experienced superyacht refit company.

Yacht Solutions at Ital Thai Marine is being set up in response to the demand for more superyacht refit and repair facilities in the Asian region from both owners of superyachts based in Asia and those travelling from Europe and America.

Located near the mouth of the Chao Phraya River in Samut Prakam and easy to navigate in from the sea – Ital Thai Marine provides the perfect site. This deep water facility was needed by Yacht Solutions to cater for larger refit and build projects as well as shorter emergency and maintenance projects.

Its location, being in the vibrant city of Bangkok and only 45 minutes from Bangkok international airport (the transiting hub of Southeast Asia) is ideal because it is extremely appealing to owners, captains and crew due to the vast range of crew facilities close to hand.

Yacht Solutions at Ital Thai Marine is a 112,000 square metre facility offering full ship building and repair capabilities plus a bonded warehouse and in-house design office. Yacht Solutions at Ital Thai Marine is ISO 9001:2000 rated and boasts a lifting capacity up to 95 metres and 3,500 tonnes. It has access to two 115 metre dry docks, 300 metre alongside berthing, a floating dock up to 160 metres and 5000 tonnes lift capacity, making this the largest superyacht repair facility in Southeast Asia.

Gareth Twist, managing director of Yacht Solutions commented, “We have been in the marine refit and repair business in Thailand for over 10 years and we have been looking for a deep water facility for the last 2 years. We are very excited to be at Ital Thai Marine as this is the perfect site for us. Yacht Solutions at Ital Thai Marine expands our superyacht capabilities for hauling-out and opens up a great yard option for any resident yachts and superyachts passing through the Gulf of Thailand. This facility is accessible to all of Southeast Asia being less than 800 miles from Singapore. We are very excited with this partnership as it offers a natural progression for our business”.

The superyacht industry in Asia is growing and recent trends show that there has been a year on year increase in the number of superyachts either in the region or transiting through the region. Yacht Solutions at Ital Thai Marine is very keen to attract those yachts to this new facility in Thailand for planned or emergency refits, repairs or conversion work.

Wirat Chanasit, managing director of Ital Thai Marine said: “We are delighted to now offer a superyacht division at Ital Thai Marine shipyard. As Southeast Asia’s leading superyacht refit company, Yacht Solutions brings a highly skilled superyacht management team including exterior finishings and painting, interior fit-out and engineering. Yacht Solutions at Ital Thai Marine has full access to our facilities and our 300 strong workforce”.

Mr Twist adds that “We have a tremendous pool of talented craftsmen here in Thailand and this facility combines European management, standards and quality with the renowned finishing skills of Thai craftsmen. Our unique combination ensures international standards are maintained while owners receive exceptional value for money and service due to the efficiencies of operating out of Thailand. With this facility we are able to compete with the European yards but with the distinct advantage of a lower labour cost base”.

This has been the busiest season yet for Yacht Solutions and if the future bookings are a good indicator – then this yard is likely to be full for refits by the end of the year. Yacht Solutions in Bangkok has successfully completed extensive refit projects on the 43-metre charter yacht Douce France and 30-metre sailing yacht Merrymaid in the last 5 months.
