Perini Navi 45m sailing yacht Clan VIII delivered

November 09, 2011

The Italian Perini Navi Group, the world-known large sailing and motor yachts builder, is happy to announce the delivery of the 45m sailing yacht Clan VIII, the result of a partnership between Perini Navi’s Design Team and Ron Holland and the fourth of the steel-hulled 45-metre series. Clan VIII superyacht was launched on September 6th.

Perini Navi 52 metre superyacht CLAN VIII

Perini Navi 52 metre superyacht CLAN VIII

Perini Navi luxury yacht Clan VIII features all the hallmarks of Perini Navi yachts, including a spacious flybridge and the opening stern which reveals a structural staircase that descends to a 7m2 swimming platform which complements a lateral opening shell door on the yacht’s port side.

The Perini Navi-built mast rises 52 metres above the waterline and the super yacht Clan VIII carries an upwind sail area of almost 900 m2. The centreboard affords a draft of 3.9 m with the board up to 8.75 m down and in conjunction with her efficient appendages – including a rudder with a relatively high aspect ratio – and large sail area provides the best possible sailing performance for this ocean cruising yacht boasting a particularly large internal volume.

The midship machinery space includes a single Caterpillar C32 820kW diesel main engine, which gives Clan VIII yacht a 13.5 knot speed under power.

The interior of the sailing yacht Clan VIII, designed in-house by the Perini Navi Design Department, is inspired by a classical yet contemporary allure where ebony and teak combine to create a truly elegant marine ambiance, thanks to the unmatched quality of the execution.

The delivery of the 53rd yacht in the fleet confirms the continued strength of the Perini Navi Group which, in 2011, has also delivered the 10th 56-metre sailing yacht Fidelis and the 55m motor yacht Galileo G, the second Vitruvius® series yacht built by the Picchiotti brand.

Earlier this summer, two contracts for a total value of over 70 million Euro were signed – one for a sloop and one for a ketch from their new line of 60 metre yachts, further expanding the production plan of the group that today includes 7 yachts: one 50m sailing yacht (to be delivered in 2012); one 40m sailing yacht (to be delivered in 2012); one 38m
sailing yacht from the Racing Line (to be delivered in 2013); one 73m motor yacht (to be delivered in 2013); one 60m ketch (to be delivered in 2013); one 60m sloop (to be delivered in 2014) and another 60m ketch (to be delivered in 2014).

Naval Architect Bill Tripp states: “Sarissa is exactly at the point where the state-of-the-art large sailing yacht world lies. She is a modern, technical boat whose design was guided by close client input and involvement. She will be used to sail all over the world with the family in tow, and will take part in the established superyacht regattas. Technology and modern design merge within Sarissa, providing the owner with luxurious comfort, accessible and easy sailing, integrated design, advanced performance, and confidence to sail anywhere in safety.”

“Following our previous carbon high performance sailing yachts, this increase in size is not the only development.” Adds Louis Hamming of Vitters. “Her hydraulic and deck systems provide improved reaction speed, load and stiffness to safely facilitate the sailing performance she was designed for.” Other custom technical features are a Vitters’ developed hydraulic steering system with rudder feedback, as well as a unique system of back stays and running stays to operate both her cruising  and racing sail configurations.

The interior design brief requested for a modern and spacious interior, yet warm and inviting like a family home. Jonathan Rhoades: “Within the length and the yachts fine performance hull lines, our goal was to create the feeling of a much larger interior. We have therefore visually borrowed volume and length from other spaces and integrated double use of certain areas. By staggering the accommodation blocks diagonally, we have stretched the visual length of the interior and effectively making the interior feel 1.5 times bigger. Tripp Design paired the vertical port lights creating a unique window that floods the interior with light. Our design capitalizes on the ample natural light below deck and spectacular views of water and sky.”

November 04, 2011

Pershing Yachts, brand of the Ferretti Group and the leading international manufacturer of high performance open motor yacht, from 15 to 35 metres, will take part in the Barcelona International Boat Show from 5th to 13th November, with its new 22.66m motor yacht Pershing 74´, together with Ventura Yachts, the exclusive distributor for Spain. The protagonist of the Iberian event, the luxury yacht Pershing 74´ will animate the docks of Port Vell with the charm of her distinct open personality, with her new lighting and unparalleled space distribution.

22.66m super yacht Pershing 74´ presents a contemporary and modern restyling of the motor yacht Pershing 72’, the model that has made the history of the brand. She features two MTU Common Rail engines of 1950 hp with Searex propulsion and high performance surface propellers, reaches a top speed of 44 knots while maintaining a high level of comfort.

22.66m super yacht Pershing 74´

22.66m super yacht Pershing 74´

In a design in which light and cutting-edge technology triumph, the decisive character of the luxury yacht Pershing 74´ is immediately visible, due to the external profile, which is more slender and streamlined than that of its predecessor, thanks to the new shape of the side windows, which makes them wider. An absolute novelty of this model is the optional sun deck with a bridge-away, which can be accessed through the innovative steel carbon central staircase – created with the collaboration of AYT and Besenzoni – which lowers automatically into the cockpit with electro-hydraulic control. The technological characteristics that made the motor yacht Pershing 72’ famous still remain, including the pocket door between the cockpit and the saloon, which combines the exterior and the interior into one single space fully exploiting the space and allowing direct contact with the sea. The yacht is also equipped with a telescopic gangway, a hydraulic swimming ladder and a launch platform that becomes a slipway for the yacht tender.

Below deck, Pershing 74’ superyacht, has a master cabin and two guest cabins that can host up to 6 people – 7 with a pull out bed in the left guest cabin – and two crew members, thanks to the distribution of spaces that aims at exalting the concept of comfort and liveability on board. The prestigious collaboration of Poltrona Frau has created furniture and leather finishing, designed to combine the Pershing style in every area with value and craftsmanship quality, typical to Poltrona Frau creations.

Nada Serafini, Brand Manager of Pershing, said: “Our participation in the Barcelona Boat Show, which is an important event for the European nautical scene, highlights the role that Pershing has on the international market which has always rewarded comfort, performance and style. In so doing we would also like to show our proximity to the Northern European and Spanish markets”.
