The Carlisle & Finch Co. announces SmartVIEW™ Technology! SmartVIEW™ is a new powerful Microprocessor-based Control System, which will allow all Carlisle & Finch Products (NightFINDER™ Systems and Standard Searchlight Products), to be easily controlled from any screen on board the ship, or from a remote PC anywhere in the world!

The NightFINDER™ is the combination of a high Intensity Searchlight and Night Vision Camera integrated onto the same Pan/Tilt Base, and Carlisle & Finch is the only company who offers this in the world today! Carlisle & Finch’s SmartVIEW™ technology will allow this powerful product, as well as any of their standard searchlight products, to be seamlessly controlled through the Ship’s Glass Bridge.

Advanced Micro-processor Controls allow any Searchlight or NightFINDER™ System to be controlled seamlessly, from any screen on board, or from any remote PC in the world via the internet

Imagine a Captain below deck, powers up his Laptop PC, and via a wireless link, decides to take a look around the perimeter of the ship through the Night Vision Camera mounted to his NightFINDER™ Searchlight System. He knows that if he sees an intruder, he can quickly flip on the searchlight, and temporarily blind the intruder, with pinpoint accuracy. And if necessary, he could choose to “Strobe the Beam”… a technique used by Militaries around the world, where a high intensity “strobing light source” is used to disorient their adversaries.

In addition to the powerful network connectivity described above, SmartVIEW™ technology provides the following additional benefits as well: Proportional-Speed Joystick, Joysticks which “intelligently switch” from searchlight to searchlight, an Ethernet Connection allowing digital control throughout the Ship’s IT Network, and remote Internet Control from any PC throughout the world. See the Network diagram on Page 2 of this document for further product details. Carlisle & Finch has targeted initial shipments to be delivered in 2nd Quarter of 2012.

About the Company… Founded in 1894, over 117 years ago, Carlisle & Finch invented the World’s first carbon arc searchlight for the “Mark Twain Paddlewheel Boats”, on the Ohio and Mississippi Rivers. That same year Carlisle & Finch also invented the World’s First Toy Electric Train, but discontinued making toy products, when they decided to focus all of their efforts on building marine lighting products, to help with the World War I effort.

Continuing its leadership in the development of new lighting technology, Carlisle & Finch also pioneered the use of xenon arc searchlights for Marine use, and today, this still remains the latest leading edge lighting technology, for ship safety and ship security. Carlisle & Finch Searchlights are the standard for the U.S. Navy, U.S. Coast Guard, U.S. Federal Prison System, Lighthouse Beacons, Architectural Lighting, the International Commercial Marine Industry, and are used by over 100 of the World’s most Prestigious Yacht Builders!

Description: Searchlights with Integrated Night Vision Camera Systems controlled by SmartVIEW™ Micro-processor control technology, will have the following user-benefits:

• Proportional-Speed Control: True proportional-speed throughout a continuous spectrum… i.e. move the Joystick a little bit and system moves slowly… move it further, and it speeds up!

• Single-Hand User Control: Beam-Speed Control and Beam-size Focus “Twist Knob” on Joystick allows Single-hand User control. Since the Speed, Aiming and Beam-size focus functions are located on Joystick, and not separate switches, only one hand is required to control the system, which frees up the other and to steer vessel, or use binoculars!

• Intelligence Joystick Switching: The same Joystick on the vessel will be able to “intelligently switch”, to any onboard searchlight!

• Digital Control: RS-232, RS-422 and Ethernet Ports on the Micro-controller Board, allow any onboard computer to access and control any searchlight or camera onboard, seamlessly!

• Remote Internet Control: If the “remote internet control feature” is ordered, the cameras and searchlights become IP-addressable allowing them to be controlled from any remote computer, anywhere in the world via the world wide web!
