Less than a month to go until the 16th annual Asia Superyacht Rendezvous, which is to take place from 16ht until 18th December in Phuket, Thailand, and the organisers have announced the exciting news that the overall winner of the highly competitive superyacht races will be for the first time awarded with the new ASR ‘Rendezvous Cup’. This prestigious, yet relaxed gathering of superyacht elite will be hosted by the Hotel SALA Resort & Spa Phuket and sponsored by Asia Pacific Superyachts together with Benetti Yachts, as well as the Lux Media Group.

Gordon Fernandes and co-organiser Captain Charlie Dwyer, in announcing the Asia Superyacht Rendezvous ‘Winner’s Cup Award’ and race criteria, note, “It is a privilege for us to be affiliated with an international superyacht sailing regatta that attracts some of the world’s top performing sailors during the Asia Superyacht Rendezvous, held at Asia’s superyacht hub of Phuket Island”, adding, “We also encourage pleasure sailors to sail around the course”.
One of the luxury yacht taking part in the ASR 2016 will be the beautiful schooner Dallinghoo. This full-keel topsail gaff-rigged beauty combines the classic design and romantic feel of a tall ship with all the comforts of a modern yacht. S.Y. Dallinghoo will be sailing around the course on ASR race days, taking VIP guests on board and hoping to win the first-time ‘ASR Winner’s Cup’. Racing superyachts will be accompanied by motor superyachts and gorgeous motor yachts will be anchored around the course, it truly will be a spectacular sight!
ASR Superyacht Race 2015
The opening of the event will take place on the 16th December during a Cocktail Party for the owners and captains, which will be held aboard the stunning charter phinisi-style superyacht DUNIA BARU, before the next day’s opening race. The following two days of competition will end with the award ceremony during the closing VIP Gala Dinner, where the winners will be announced and given the new Race Winner’s Cup.
