Organisers of the upcoming Asia Pacific Superyacht Conference (APSC) are thrilled to present some exciting new members of the expert speaker line up. To take place just prior to the Singapore Yacht Show at the fabulous ONE°15 Marina Club on April 16-17, the APSC will feature over 200 delegates, discussing issues and key topics concentrated on the Asia Pacific region. The event is timed perfectly to permit those already visiting the boat show to capitalise on their trip by being present at the conference for crucial regional insight as well as important networking time.

Ed Dubois is well known throughout the superyacht industry as a prominent sail and motoryacht naval architect. Dubois will be discussing ‘Iconic Superyacht Design Elements’ and what owners want from design and how they are influenced. Most crucially Dubois will look at the impact on design of future trends and discuss Asia’s contemporary designs and their application to the superyacht industry.

Quality versus cost reduction
Experts on superyacht construction, Johnny Chueh, President of Ocean Alexander, and Julian Chang, Executive Director, Raffles Class Consultant and Board Director, International Seakeepers Society, will be presenting Building Superyachts in Asia – establishing the business case.

Examining the improving quality of manufacturing versus the cost reduction possibilities, the paper will be of interest to anyone considering production in Asia. In a complementary paper James Roy, Yacht Design Director of BMT Nigel Gee, will be discussing ‘Northern European Quality’ and how this is defined, and how Asian companies can equal or better the European reputations for a high standard of work.

Moving with the times
Founder and Managing Director of SuperYacht Company, Merijn de Waard, is a specialist on the world of superyachts. Drawing on his experience gained from running the website of SuperyachtTimes, de Waard will present a paper on ‘The Use of Social Media in the Yachting Industry,’ giving valuable insight into the world of social media and how companies can harness it to their benefit and engage their customer base.

And Mykolas Rambus, CEO of Wealth-X, the global UHNWI intelligence experts, will present a paper on identifying new potential clients in Asia and catering to their requirements.

These new speakers join a panel of regional experts that includes Colin Dawson, Managing Director of the George Group and Chairman of the Asia Pacific Superyacht Association; MaryAnne Edwards, Chief Executive of the Australian International Marine Export Group; and Conference Chairman Simon Turner, Director of Northrop & Johnson Asia.

Other discussion topics will include: Asia as a growing charter destination; Building successful client relationships in Asia; Brand perception and targeted marketing.
