91m Lurssen Superyacht Project RIO

A new 91m superyacht Project RIO to be built by the German Lurssen shipyard has just been signed. A new Lurssen megayacht ‘Project Rio’ measures 91m (298.55ft) and was signed for Lurssen to build just before the start of the 2011 Monaco Yacht Show.

The German motor yacht builder Lurssen Yachts (or Lürssen Werft) is known for constructing large custom superyachts which include 5 yachts in the top 10 largest yachts in the world. At number 2 of the largest yachts in the world is the 162m megayacht Dubai, followed by the 155m yacht Al Said in third place, in sixth place is the 139.3m superyacht Al Salamah. The seventh largest yacht in the world built by Lurrsen is the 138m Rising Sun motor yacht, with the 126.2m Octopus yacht coming in at number 10 on the list.
