Motor yacht TURQUOISE is an imposing 55m Proteksan Turquoise Yachts-built vessel with a new Owner, who has asked the renowned H2 Yacht Design studio to undertake her entire refit project. The owner’s desire was to refit superyacht Turquoise with a more plush look inspired by the motor yacht Talisman Maiton. The main reason behind this is the fact that they have chartered superyacht Talisman Maiton (designed by H2) a few times and loved how she worked.

The Sun Deck
In terms of structure work, there were no major bulkheads moved. The Sun deck has had a major layout change with the reduction of the unnecessary sun bed space and by adding a dining table and a bar opposite. In addition, the BBQ has been moved up to this deck also.

The Owner’s Office & Stateroom
Since the owner liked the owner’s office on Talisman Maiton, H2 Yacht Design replicated it and moved the office desk from the window to the back, while removing the piano.

In the Owners’ suite H2 opened up the space by removing the headboard partition to bring some natural light into the wardrobe space.

Main Saloon
The main Salon had a bar and more storage added. Plenty of joinery work has been done for this refit by MVS Interior Contractors including the bar, storage, dining room feature wall, as well as the partition between the saloon and dining.

Main Deck
The exterior layout of the main deck aft has been changed into an exterior cinema and lounging area. It has been described as the ‘Nikki Beach’ area.
Here the refit comprised new cabinetry work, furniture, headboards, carpets, fabrics, lighting, and new AV system that has been changed throughout. Numerous original features have been kept, however have been refinished, covered and personalised to the new interior.
It is important to mention that luxury yacht TURQUOISE has been designed for yacht charter and the owners themselves were avid charterers prior to this purchase. They loved how Talisman Maiton operated. They loved her crew, therefore decided to bring in some of the ex members of the Talisman Maiton crew. This is to help give their clients the same treatment they received, in a new refreshing interior.

Guest Accommodation
The exterior and interior spaces have been designed to accommodate as much human interaction as possible and to create a nice family atmosphere. The lower deck guest cabins each have uniquely themed tones and style.

Mechanical Works
Mechanically no major works were done, apart from AV work, Kaleidescape Movie Server System, Multi-room Audio System with Access to Music Library & Guests own music via airplay, External Audio & TV to the Sun Deck, LED HD TVs throughout, including 75” in the Sky Lounge, Aft Deck Cinema with 92” Screen.

The Refit was done in Italy, Genoa at Amico shipyard. Amico worked on all of the exterior changes and MVS & Associates were the interior contractors.
As a team (designer, yard, contractor and client) they have produced what anybody in the industry would consider unattainable. TURQUOISE yacht was delivered in time for the Genoa International Yacht Show, following and very short and impressive time frame of 6 months.
Various people from the industry have praised her outcome. Turquoise just hosted the annual Royal Party with 250 guests attending, including His Serene Highness Prince Albert II. She was also hosting an event during the recent Monaco Grand Prix and is now fully booked for charter.
