Running from June 27th – June 29th, the 2012 Horizon Open House activities provided the VIP guests as well as press from around the world with the unique opportunity to explore three of Horizon’s four luxury yacht manufacturing facilities: Atech Composites, the original Horizon Yacht shipyard and subsidiary Vision shipyard.

Horizon conducted an introductory presentation before the tours that outlined Horizon’s 25 year history, provided an overview of each of the four shipyards, and detailed the main functions of the Atech Composites and Horizon Yacht shipyards. Once underway, the guided tours illustrated shipyard features and technology – in some instances literally, as Horizon demonstrated FRP composites testing and NDT testing procedures on FRP and carbon fiber parts – and allowed visitors access to key Horizon employees for question-and-answer sessions on Horizon’s build technology and quality as well as upcoming products.

After the tours, the clients commented that “it is unbelievable to see this level of growth and depth of commitment of a yacht manufacturer in today’s market.” and the press also expressed that “I finally realize Horizon is such a large scale yacht manufacturer with advanced technology and facilities.”
