44m Steel Sanlorenzo

Sanlorenzo  shipyard of Italy has recently launched a brand new 44m steel super yacht. The vessel is the new flagship of San Lorenzo’s fleet. The yacht is comprised of 3 decks, has a full displacement steel hull and an aluminium superstructure.

The yachts exterior lines are well balanced – designed to give maximum light to the yachts interior and to be in keeping with the design philosophy of the shipyards Navetta range. The glazed surfaces running along the side superstructure on the main deck continue without breaks on the upper deck and end with the original “whisker” along the aft section of her superstructure.

A unique feature of the yachts design is which is very rare for a boat of this size, is the area located underneath lower deck. The area features a central tunnel running from stern to bow, which houses  technical operation systems such as the stabilizer fins, bow‐thruster etc and the service areas like the laundry room complete with 3 washing machines and 3 driers, ironing board, and a refrigeration zone with freezers and cold storage rooms. On most yachts (even larger yachts), this area is tight and narrow, however the new 44m Sanlorenzo model features a tunnel high enough to walk through, enabling an efficient and simple way to check systems and maintenance. This deck has additional access to the engine room, allowing the Chief Engineer access without disturbing guests on the upper levels of the yacht.

The 44m steel yacht has a vast stern area housing the Beach Club which is a fitness area complete with gym and relaxation equipment (SPA) with a separate day head. The Beach Club overlooks the huge bathing platform. There is access to the Beach Club from the main deck via the staircase from the outside cockpit and from inside via the saloon. The yachts “garage” is located in front of this area accessed by a big starboard side door, and is big enough to accommodate a 20’ tender.

The Sanlorenzo 44 Steel is powered by two CAT 3512B x 2.040hp  (1.500 kW) at 1.600 rpm, with a maximum speed of 17 knots, a cruising speed of 15 knots and a range of 4,000 NM at 12 knots. Her gross tonnage is 499 tons, which is below SOLAS regulation.
