Each superyacht is unique, and so is her design and cruising experience she provides. Whether it’s a private or charter yacht, a superyacht aft deck is surely a crucial element of design. It serves to connect guests aboard with the outside marine world. World-renowned designers strive to create the most comfortable, spacious, luxurious and striking aft deck to achieve the ultimate. Here are some of the best superyachts and their cool aft decks.

Luna | 115m | Lloyd Werft and Stahlbau Shipyard | 2010

Built and launched by Lloyd Werf and Stahlbau Shipyard, mega yacht Luna boasts outstanding exterior design by Newcruise. Luna’s enormous aft deck hosts a massive swimming pool, which back in 2010 when the yacht was launched, was the largest on a superyacht. Incredible Luna can carry a huge amount of water toys, as well as provide amazing lavish spaces for socialising on her aft deck.

Alfa Nero | 82m | Oceanco | 2007

Everyone who’s ever seen the breathtaking aft deck of Alfa Nero knows that it is, perhaps, her most outstanding feature. The aft deck’s enormous swimming pool with glass waterfall converts into a helipad, which represents a great balance of luxury and functionality created by Oceanco.

Motor Yacht A | 119m | Blohm + Voss | 2009

Not many have seen close up shots of motor yacht A, neither know the exact details of her interior design. However, we all know that Motor Yacht A is a unique vessel, with a head-spinning exterior created by Philippe Starck. The futuristic, extraterrestrial, dazzling, beautiful or unusual (call it what want) exterior looks particularly interesting from the aft. Unlike other mega yachts, Blohm + Voss Motor Yacht A does not show off her sunbathing spaces, large swimming pools and alfresco dining areas. If you look at her sister ship Sailing Yacht A, it seems that their owner Andrey Melnichenko appreciates privacy.
