Barbuda lies 20 miles to the north of Antigua in the in the middle of the Leeward Islands in the Eastern Caribbean. Barbuda offers great yachting vacations because of a number of lovely anchorages and bays on its west and south sides. For instance, Codrington Lagoon is on the west side of Barbuda and is seven miles long with pink sandy beaches. Many other pleasant beaches can also be found which are often covered with sea shells. Codrington is also the name of Barbuda's largest town. Antigua and Barbuda are located approximately 17 degrees north of the equator and they are part of the Lesser Antilles archipelago. Coral reefs and abundant marine life make for great snorkelling and scuba diving. Reliable trade winds throughout the high season, which runs from December to May, make Antigua and Barbuda a great yacht charter location for sailboats, but also luxury motor yachts.
