A General Description of Motor Yacht THEA FOSS

This motor yacht THEA FOSS is a superyacht of good sized proportions. This 37 metre (120 ft) luxury yacht was begun and finished at Craig Shipbuilding in 1930. THEA FOSS was previously registered as the project or yacht name Infanta; Polaris; Pyc 6 Amber (Usn); Polaris. The naval architect that made this yacht's design for the yacht was L.E. Geary.

The Thea Foss was built as the yacht Infanta in 1930 by the Craig Shipbuilding Company of Long Beach, California. She was 120 feet in length with a beam of 21 feet and six inches. The Infanta served the US Navy in World War II as the patrol vessel Amber. The yacht was then sold by the US Government to a group of geological scientists who used the vessel for private surveys off the coast of lower California. The group did not change the boat's name, AMBER, nor did they after the boat's appearance or fixtures from when the navy used her as a patrol boat during the war. Foss bought the yacht in 1950 and converted the yacht at the Tacoma shipyard to her former glory.

New Build & Designing for Luxury Yacht THEA FOSS

The yacht's wider design collaboration came from LE Geary. The formal naval architect firm plans are a creation of LE Geary. In 1930 she was formally launched with triumph in Long Beach Ca and following sea trials and final completion was thereafter delivered to the yacht owner. Craig Shipbuilding completed their new build motor yacht in the United States. The core hull was constructed with steel. The motor yacht superstructure is made extensively from steelandwood. With a width of 6.58 metres / 21.6 feet THEA FOSS has moderate internal space. She has a reasonably shallow draught of 2.68m (8.8ft).
