Stefano Righini was the naval architecture company involved in the formal vessel composition for MR D. Her interior design was completed by Carlo Galeazzi. Stefano Righini is also associated with the yacht general design work for this yacht. Italy is the country that Azimut Yachts built their new build motor yacht in. After her official launch in 2004 in Viareggio the boat was then released to the yacht owner after final finishing. The main hull was built out of composite. The motor yacht superstructure is fabricated largely using composite. With a beam of 7.4 metres or 24.3 ft MR D has reasonable room. She has a fairly shallow draught of 2.35m (7.7ft). She had refit improvement and alteration work completed in 2005.
