The motor yacht MALIBU is a 50 m 164 (ft) ample steel ship which was built at Amels Yachts (Of The Damen Shipyard Group) and designed by Amels and Terence Disdale Design. Sleeping 10 passengers and 11 crew members, motor yacht MALIBU was formerly Kermit which was her build project name or actual name. Completed in the year of 2001 this boat’s interior design and decor reflects the unique vision in the designing of Terence Disdale Design.

Building & Designing of Luxury Yacht MALIBU

Amels was the naval architect firm involved in the technical nautical design work for MALIBU. Her interior design was realised by Terence Disdale Design. Amels and Terence Disdale Design is also associated with the yacht wider design collaboration for this boat. In 2001 she was actually launched with triumph in Makkum and following sea trials and detailing was thereafter delivered to the yacht owner. Amels Yachts (Of The Damen Shipyard Group) completed their new build motor yacht in the Netherlands. The main hull was built out of steel. The motor yacht main superstructure is fabricated extensively using aluminium. With a width of 9 metres / 29.5 feet MALIBU has spacious internal space. She has a deep draught of 3m (9.8ft).

M/Y MALIBU Engineering And Performance:

Installed with twin CUMMINS diesel main engines, MALIBU will reach a top speed of 15 knots. Coupled to the MALIBU engines are twin screw propellers. She also has an efficient range of 7000 miles whilst sailing at her cruising speed of 13 knots. Her total HP is 2400 HP and her total Kilowatts are 1766. As for bow thruster maneuverability she was built with Hrp.
