The motor yacht LINDA LOU is a 60 metre 197 (foot) substantial steel vessel which was built at Lurssen Yachts and concieved by Lurssen and Espen Oeino. Sleeping 10 passengers and 14 professional crew, motor yacht LINDA LOU was formerly named (Project Shooting Star). The gracious motor yacht has been designed with the naval architecture of Lurssen and Espen Oeino. Zuretti Interior Design produced the designing of the interior.
Yacht LINDA LOU was built by Lurssen for American yacht owners in September 2006. Her main deck houses a wide hallway with an impressive staircase. The ownerâ€™s area ia also on the main deck and but is separated from the main salon. An extravagant backlit marble bar marble in turn separates the salon from the dining area. Her interior design blends elegant classical details with contemporary elements and the effect is to create warm and comfortable spaces. With this in mind Francois Zuretti employed rare wood veneers like madrona on her main deck and lace wood on her upper deck. Her spacious sundeck to aft has multiple uses such as dining, entertaining, and can also facilitate a helicopter touch down if needed. Her engine room leads to a large tender and water toy garage which has large lift up doors on either side of the hull.
Lurssen was the naval architect firm involved in the formal superyacht design work for LINDA LOU. Her interior design was conceived by Zuretti Interior Design. Lurssen and Espen Oeino is also associated with the yacht general design work for this boat. Created at Lurssen Yachts the yacht was fabricated in the country of Germany. She was successfully launched in Bremen in 2006 before being transferred to the owner. A spacious feeling is achieved with a maximum beam (width) of 11.3 m or 37 ft. With a 3.5m (11.48ft) draught (maximum depth) she is fairly deep. The material steel was used in the building of the hull of the motor yacht. Her superstructure above deck is fashioned with the use of aluminium. In 2006 extra refitting and updating was in addition finished.
Powered by two CATERPILLAR diesel engines, LINDA LOU is able to attain a top speed of 15.5 knots. Connected to her Caterpillar engine(s) are twin screw propellers.
