New Build & Designing of Luxury Yacht INTUITION II

Amels was the naval architecture company involved in the professional vessel design work for INTUITION II. Her interior design was realised by Nicholson Interiors. Amels and Southampton Yacht Services is also associated with the yacht general design work for this boat. In 1974 she was actually launched with triumph in Makkum and post sea trials and finishing touches was then handed over to the new owner. Amels Yachts (Of The Damen Shipyard Group) completed their new build motor yacht in the Netherlands. A spacious proportion is manifested with a maximum beam (width) of 10.7 metres / 35.1 ft. With a 4m (13.1ft) draught (maximum depth) she is reasonably deep. The material steel was used in the building of the hull of the motor yacht. Her superstructure over the hull is fashioned out of aluminium. In 1999 extra refitting and modernisation was also performed.

Installed with three DEUTZ-MWM diesel-electric engines, INTUITION II can attain a top speed of 14 knots. For propulsion INTUITION II has a single screw propeller. She also has an economical range of 6000 miles whilst motoring at her cruising speed of 10 knots. Her total HP is 3282 HP and her total Kilowatts are 2415. Regarding bow thrusters she was fitted with Lips. As for the yacht’s stabalisers she utilises Vosper.
