A well proportioned twin masted schooner ALABAMA is a very clevery designed United States built yacht which was launched to completion in 1926. She could be considered a classic twin masted schooner. The gracious boat has been created by a naval architect called Thomas F. Macmanus.
The Build & Naval Architecture with respect to Luxury Yacht ALABAMA
Thomas F Macmanus was the naval architect involved in the professional superyacht plans for ALABAMA. Thomas F Macmanus is also associated with the yacht general design work for this yacht. In 1926 she was actually launched with celebration in Pensacola Fl and following sea trials and finishing touches was afterwards handed over to the owner who commissioned her. Pensacola Shipbuilding completed their new build sailing yacht in the United States. A moderate feeling is achieved with a total beam (width) of 6.58 m / 21.6 feet. With a 3.35m (11ft) draught (maximum depth) she is deep. The material wooden was used in the building of the hull of the sailing yacht. Her superstructure above deck is created from wood. Over the deck of ALABAMA she is 27.43 (90 ft) in length. In 1998 further refit work and updating was in addition finished.
