GIRAUD Yacht Review

Motor yacht GIRAUD measures 40m and offers a large variety of luxury amenities to her guests, as well as comfortable accommodation for 11 guests.

Motor Yacht Giraud

Relaxation and comfort are the two aspects charter guests look for when a yacht charter vacation. Giraud has the facilities for these aspects plus luxury, space and style. This 40m (131ft) long superyacht has many distinguishing assets too, one being the absence of noise. This absence of noise is achieved with registered noise and vibration data that shows a reduction of 25% and 80% respectively. Giraud is a tri-deck vessel full of charm, sophistication and elegance. She also has a strong and dignified look with a palette of golden colours on board.

Sailing at a cruising speed of 18 knots going up to 21 knots, this beautiful superyacht is impressive at sea or when at anchor. Her exterior has masculine, angular lines with almost vertical bulwarks which give her a naval appearance. The bronze of the superstructure creates a distinctive, instantly recognisable vessel of pure innovation.

On board Giraud

The main saloon of this stunning motor yacht has dark wood flooring with recessed purple lighting offsetting the fixtures. The metallic silver panelling contrasts very well in the minimalistic layout which makes a fantastic space for guests to relax.

This particular saloon is separated from a formal dining area by a uniquely crafted octopus sculpture. The sculpture offers a great talking point and is certainly a work of art. With lots of modern art, comfortable furniture and startling furnishings, Giraud is refreshing and inviting. Curved and sharp lines provide the “wow” factor wherever you look while on board.

Each cabin has an iPad which controls the lighting, blinds and different entertainment systems. The designer was definitely forward-thinking when creating this splendid vessel. The master suite has a private office with similar recessed lighting to the main saloon. Having white walls and a clean, crisp feel, it’s a very welcoming part of the yacht. In this suite, there are also a couple of well-designed and colourful chairs if you need to chill out.

An alternative to the main saloon is an upper lounge. This area provides games nights and cocktails from the bar. It’s decorated with Macassar panels and has a neutral colour scheme. The exterior decks have many sun pads scattered around so guests can lounge in the sun, read a favourite novel or sip a refreshing, cool drink. If it gets too hot, take a dip in the large Jacuzzi situated on the sun deck, not far from a barbecue.

TVs are available for everyone to watch during the day or there’s projection equipment on the sun deck to create a kind of movie theatre. The retractable platform at the stern of Giraud has a lovely beach club which is impressive. It also provides the perfect launch pad to dive into the warm waters.

Delightful accommodation

Breath-taking and glamorous are words that describe the delightful accommodation. On board this refined superyacht, lightly toned furnishings and textured leather flooring are featured in the cabins. Reminiscent of a contemporary New York apartment, the full beam suite is very similar to that on much larger vessels.

Behind the bed there is a his and her bathroom separated by a mirrored steam room. This steam room has fabulous lighting options which can capture any mood. The full beam suite is extremely quiet too, just what you need for a good night’s sleep.

Other suites can be found on the lower deck which are modern and have a personality all of their own. Stained and painted materials have been used to create a youthful look with individual themes running through each cabin. Ceilings in these cabins are very high giving an air of space and plenty of room.

The bridge and upper deck saloon

On the bridge and upper deck saloon you’ll notice how casual everything is. Understated features complete the relaxing feel of these two sections of Giraud. Customised furniture and amazing sculptures which wouldn’t look out of place in a high-end art gallery adorn the areas. The award-winning Luca Dini Design company was responsible for the interior using the owner’s curious pieces of art arranging them in such a way to more than catch the eye.

With lots of various indoor living areas, Giraud offers a sense of unity that everyone can experience. Why not sit with the captain on the bridge to learn about the latest technology on board? A state-of-the-art console in the engine room makes this superyacht capable of seamless cruising. One of the great things about Giraud in that the captain is able to sail at night so guests can wake up in a different exotic location without being disturbed during the night.
