ST PETERSBURG AND TAMPA

Cruising around St. Petersburg onboard a superyacht charter on the peninsula between Tampa Bay and the Gulf of Mexico, makes for the ideal vacation. Sail into Harborage Marina in St. Petersburg or Port Tampa Bay to begin exploring on shore. Before your trip why not compile a must-see and visit list? Adventure awaits you at St. Petersburg and Tampa Bay with attractions galore.

In St. Petersburg there’s the Dali Museum and Chihuly Collection, Sunken Gardens, Clearwater Marine Aquarium as well as the Great Expectations Children’s Museum. Both Tampa Bay and St. Petersburg tourism are really booming and it isn’t hard to see why.  There are endless things to do and see, great entertainment for everyone.

With award-winning beautiful beaches, St. Petersburg is also a wonderful place to relax. Some of Florida’s finest beaches can be found in St. Petersburg’s southern tip. Ft. DeSoto Beach has been named the number one beach in the US. Named after the historic fort, located on the 900-acre country park, this all year-round beach is also a playground for the rich and famous. St. Petersburg’s municipal beach is located on the shores of Treasure island, a neighbouring Gulf of Mexico community. Close by are beach volley ball courts, snack bars and restaurants.

When it comes to stunning beaches, Tampa Bay certainly doesn’t disappoint. From downtown Tampa, you’re only about a half hour drive away from the most beautiful stretches of sand in the world. There are more than a dozen beaches to choose from all of which have soft, white sand meeting the warm, clear waters of the Gulf of Mexico. There are full beach services here with restaurants, water sports, entertainment and cabanas. Clear Water Beach is a good choice, it’s the centre of action and home to Pier 60 which hosts a daily sunset festival. If you’re after peace and quiet and a beach with a more natural setting, head for Caladesi Island State Park. It’s the perfect spot to reconnect with nature.

From most cafes and restaurants, you will be able to see the numerous bridges that cross Tampa Bay such as the Sunshine Sky Bridge, Howard Frankland Bridge, Courtney Campbell Causeway and Gandy Bridge. With the incredible Florida weather, there’s plenty of opportunity to explore. The kids will love a day out at Tampa’s Lowry Park Zoo, Fort De Soto Park or for Buccaneer fans, Raymond James Stadium. Take a leisurely stroll down Bayshore Boulevard which is claimed to be the world’s longest, continuous sidewalk at four and a half miles long.

The city which glimmers between the Gulf of Mexico and Tampa Bay, St. Petersburg boasts top-rated restaurants, cafes, bars and boutique shops. Head to downtown St. Petersburg to the heart of the city for some retail therapy before hanging out in Locale Market, a one-of-a-kind 20,000 square-foot marketplace offering the region’s best, freshest, finest, tastiest culinary delights. Enjoy your time ashore at St. Petersburg and Tampa Bay before setting sail for your next yacht charter vacation destination.
