Proteksan Turquoise Yachts
Proteksan-Turquoise Yachts Inc. is Turkey’s largest superyacht builder, established by the two leaders of the Turkish Boat building Industry; Proteksan Yachts Inc. and Turquoise Yacht Construction. This union constituted the pioneer of luxury yacht builders in Turkey with worldwide recognition and impressive fleet at sea. The company was established in 1997 to start building the 50 meter Dubois designed motor yacht Mosaique. Since her delivery, Proteksan-Turquoise Yachts has delivered a range of superyachts, varying in length from 40 to 58 metres. Several others yachts measuring up to 70 metres are also under construction at the shipyard. Some of the Proteksan-Turquoise Yachts include 58.20 m motor yacht “BARAKA”, 54.70 m motor yacht “SEQUEL P”, “VAJOLIROJA” (ex ANATOLIA) built by Proteksan Turquoise in 2001, the 53 metre superyacht Leo Fun, the 53.20 m TRAWLER YACHT “VINYDREA” , Cameleon B,, Odessa, 58.2 m Petara, Talisman C motor yacht, 53.4 m PEGASO (Ex M/Y Petara).
In 2005, a company, Celik Yat, fully owned by the Proteksan-Turquoise Yachts partners was founded in Kocaeli Free Zone with the aim of producing the hulls and superstructures. After the steel and aluminium work is completed in Çelikyat, the vessels are transferred to Proteksan Turquoise Shipyard wherein the interior decoration and rest of the work on superyachts. In 2007 Proteksan Turquoise moved to its new facilities in Guzelyali-Pendik with a capacity of holding 4 yachts up to 80 meters. The two new facilities jointly allowed Proteksan Turquoise to reach a capacity to deliver 4 top class yachts every year. The second shipyard is located in Golcuk across the bay from Pendik. It is here that the steel and aluminium hull and superstructure work is completed, as well as the installation of some machinery and heavy piping is done.
Specialising in the construction of steel and aluminium megayachts from 40 to 70m, the Turkish shipyard has created itself one of the most impressive fleets on the water. Utilising the space and labour force benefits of a two-yard combination, the shipyard of Proteksan Turquoise is headquartered in Istanbul. From the company’s very first launch in to its latest fleet of new and semi-custom designs, the yard offers a wide range of steel and aluminium superyachts, beginning from 40 metres in length.
Some of the striking superyachts of the shipyard’s impressive fleet include the 54.7m Sequel P, 54.2m Talisman C, 53.2m Vindrea and 50m Mosaique. Luxury motor yacht SEQUEL P at 54.7 m (179,5) ft was launched in 2009 by Proteksan Turquoise Yachts and designed by H2 yacht designers. M/Y SEQUEL P is a well designed superyacht which features good outdoor areas along with natural and tranquil interiors, decorated in sycamore and macore. After the success of the 42.50m CAMELEON-B and the 39.50m VINIDREA II, Proteksan-Turquoise proudly announced the successful launch of the new 53m Trawler yacht VINYDREA. Created by the renowned Paolo CALIARI and PROTEKSAN - TURQUOISE Design Departments, the super yacht also featured Jean Guy Vergès – J.G VERGES DESIGN for the Interior Design & Decoration who also designed the former two yachts of the company. Proteksan Turquoise was chosen the winner among three yachts nominated for the Best Innovation Prize for yachts above 50 meters of World Yachts 2009 Awards.
In the year 2008, the prestigious “Yacht Construction Award” was given to the President of Board of Directors of Proteksan Turquoise Yachts Inc., Hayati Kamhi by the President of Board of Executives of International Ship Engineers Science and Technology Institute, Mr. Michael Everard. PROTEKSAN TURQUOISE and ÇELÄ°KYAT were also awarded the ISO 9001:2000 certificate in January 2009. Proteksan Turquoise became a member of SYBAss as of 1 January 2010.
Apart from this, Proteksan Turquoise Yachts is recognised for manufacturing a couple of the best sailing yachts in the world. The shipyard has surely created a niche for them by offering yachts with high Quality, consistency and lasting performance.
